Apply for permit B (residence permit)

Permit B is granted for an employment contract of twelve months or longer, and for permanent contracts. For EU/EFTA nationals it is valid for five years; for third-country nationals usually for one year with annual renewal. It is issued by the cantonal migration authority following your registration with the municipality. Changes of address, civil status or employer must be reported within 14 days.
